The first page submission (and ultimately the
entire essay) can be based EITHER on the seed
sentence template or on a discussion of the
various points of irony in the story. This would
include a thesis that gives us an idea about what the irony in the story reveals and/or how irony is used to present unconventional, even subversive ideas. If there is another idea, theme you want to explore, first check with me to see if it will work. All choices must include quotes from the story, at least 3-4, and discussion of literary
