Shapes), 10 (IMF and Solubility), and 11 (Chromatography of Dyes).
molecule to use is Chcl3
The student will write a 2-page summary paper.
It must have 12pt
Times Roman font, single-spaced, 1-inch margins.
In addition, it should include a cover page with the title, Name, and Lab section.

and interpretation of data collected from several experiments
d) -formulation
of a conclusion
e) points will be assigned to grammar
and spelling errors in the paper.
a)
The student will summarize and use the evidence gained from
Experiments 04 (Chemical Bonding), 05 (Molecular Shapes), 10 (IMF and
Solubility), and 11 (Chromatography of Dyes) to write a 4-7-page (double
spaced) paper answering the following prompt.
What are intermolecular forces and how do they determine the properties
of molecules.
In addition, it should include
a cover page with title, name, and lab section.
It should also include a reference page with citations in either APA or
MLA format. The paper will include:
o Effective presentation of knowledge and minimum two credible resources –
These resources should be cited in the reference page. Your textbook can be a source but will not
count toward the two minimum resources needed.
o Application of concepts and/or models – Students must apply
concepts/models discussed in these labs to applications beyond those discussed
in these specific labs.
o Analysis and interpretation of data collected from several experiments
o Formulation of a conclusion
c) points will be assigned to grammar and
spelling errors in the paper.
The
writing assignment will be graded based on the rubric below. The paper is worth a total of 50 points. Meeting target expectations in each category
will be worth 9 points for a total value of 45 points. The last 5 points will be based on if the
students followed the guidelines of the paper (double spaced, cover page, etc).
Elements
of this rubric are adapted from the AAC&U VALUE rubric for “Inquiry and
Analysis”
