A. In a number of his poems, Hughes wrote about dreams. A dream is a wish, a hope and an aspiration. People have dreams about what they want when they grow up, what they want to become, and how they want to change either their individual lives and, or the world. Write an essay in which you explain what Hughes says about the experience of the African American in his poems “Dreams,” “Dream Variations,” “Dream Deferred,” “I Dream A World”. Three other sources must be used in the paper. I’ve supplied critical essays for you to consider, and you must locate one of your own using the BMCC library sources. To complete this essay, you will want to determine what statement about African American life all of the poems have in common—which you will state in your thesis—and then illustrate how this common element is presented in each of the poems.
